Artistic Practise

Like many artists, my art is a way to express a unique view. A way of seeing and making sense of the world.

Since boyhood, I’ve drawn, sketched and painted to capture the world in different mediums, from biro, pencil and charcoal to watercolour, acrylic and oil paint.

Wherever I am, I carry a sketch book and camera.

In fact, photographs are often the starting point for my work, especially for capturing detail and unique moments.

While drawing, I move between quick, impressionistic sketches and close, detailed observation.

Working from life, I look for a truth in what I’m seeing, whether it’s a distinct feeling or an absolute likeness.
